Central Munich parking garages can make a large SUV less convenient than it looked at collection. If most days are urban, check vehicle width and hotel parking before choosing extra size for one short part of the trip.
Long routes make seating and range matter
For Autobahn days, driving position, passenger space and realistic range matter more than peak performance. Build the route around breaks and the car’s real fuel or charging needs.
Alpine plans need weather margin
Conditions can change quickly at elevation. Confirm suitable tyres for the season, check the forecast close to departure and keep the route flexible. A four-wheel-drive badge does not replace appropriate tyres or careful driving.
Crossing a border must be agreed
Austria, Switzerland and Italy are close to Munich, but permission is not automatic. Tell the rental provider where you plan to go and check local toll, vignette and environmental-zone rules before departure.
